What is Number Hosting?

Hosting your number on MessageDesk allows all sent/received messages to be managed from the MessageDesk Inbox. This means that we only take control of the texting portion of the number.

After the process is complete, we will not have any control over the voice portion of your number. That will remain in control of your voice provider and you will receive calls normally. This is ideal for those that want to text-enable their existing business landline number. Learn more about it here.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact support@messagedesk.com.

Once submitted, it should take 2-4 business days to complete. During this time your current provider will still be sending/receiving messages from your phone number.

What is Number Porting?

Porting means MessageDesk will now take full control of the number you want to be imported. This means you are requesting that we take control of all aspects of that number (voice and text).

If you want MessageDesk to just take control of the texting portion of your number, you may want to consider hosting your number.

If you have any questions about this process, please contact support@messagedesk.com.

Once submitted, it should take 5-10 business days to complete. During this time your current provider will still be sending/receiving messages from your phone number.
